Hyde Park Stud was founded by John Bourke. From an extended farming background, John has been around horses all his life. He did the National Stud Course in 1992 and a year at Rathbarry before setting off for Australia where he spent three years at the Independent Stallion Station near Melbourne. Standing Stallions himself is what John always wanted to do but when he first returned to Ireland he began prepping and consigning horses to the sales, selling up to 150 lots a year.

Hyde Park Stud has started to grow into an exciting stallion farm over the past number of years. The stud now stands three Stallions: Hawkeye, Tendulkar and Governor Brown. Along with continuing to consign at all major sales, Hyde Park Stud provides all year round boarding and foaling facilities to both Irish and international clients.
